Family Studies 30S (FMS30S)

Course Description

Grade 11 Family Studies focuses on the skills and knowledge parents and caregivers need, with emphasis on maternal health, pregnancy, birth, and the early years of human development.  Students will learn about the developmental needs, effective care, guidance and positive interactions with young children.  The development of these skills and knowledge will enhance their overall well-being now as adolescents and in the future as parents and caregivers.  This course also offers practical applications where students will use their knowledge and skills to care for a ‘baby simulator’ and host nursery sessions for pre-school aged children.  ​
