Course Description

The aim of this course is to provide students with graphic design and animation skills. By using a variety of software applications and traditional art media, students will develop competencies in the areas of graphic design and animation. The course is designed to expose students to artistic applications of technology, and to develop understanding of the principles and elements of design. Technology is becoming a necessary tool in the modern world of arts. Computer generated graphics are an integral component of books, magazines, comics, film, advertising, video games, internet, architecture and fine art, to name but a few. Students need to be aware of the jobs available in these fields and have an opportunity to develop the pre-requisite skills necessary to participate in these fields. Many students have an interest in both art and technology. This course offers an opportunity for them to showcase their talents and interests.
