Course Description

This course is an introduction to major topics in the field of psychology and emphasizes issues that are of interest and relevance to high school students. The five main themes of the course are: research methods, biopsychology, developmental psychology, cognitive psychology and variations in individuals and groups. Studying psychology can give students lifelong skills such as dealing with issues proactively, problem solving, learning, and nurturing healthy relationships. It helps students to understand societal problems and to better understand themselves and deal with issues in their own lives.  ​
