The Future of Growing Food (FGF)

Course Description

Food. Whether it's grown in a backyard garden, a vertical urban highrise or a large-scale agriculture farm, everyone needs food. With the global popular surpassing 8 billion peope and growing exponentially, foodproduction is a critical issue for everyone.

This 2-credit course will explore grwoing food in a variety of settings, using an assortment of techniques with the goal of promoting economical and sustainable foodproduction. Students will ge their hands dirty (literally, in the greenhouse) while investigating possible solutions to real-life food security issues with opportunities for personal community connections.​

Successful completion of this course will resultin students earning credits for both Agriculture 30S (AGR30S) and Current Topics in Science II (CTS230S).
