Choral 40S (CHL40S)
Course Description
This non-auditioned choir consists of students in Grades 11 & 12 and meets every day throughout Semester 1. Students will receive a 30S or 40S credit corresponding to their grade. The course is largely rehearsal based in preparation for performances at Choralfest, the GVC Winter Concert, and other local events. Students will learn the essentials of good vocal and choral technique, through emphasis on expression, breath support, reading choral scores, singing in harmony, and singing with energy. Class time is also spent learning music theory, music history, song writing, audio production, and more. There are many opportunities for independent enrichment and projects throughout the course.
