Drama 20S (DRM20S)
Course Description
This course is designed to introduce students to the Art of Drama through the exploration of the interpretive, expressive and emotive skills required for effective dramatic performance. The curriculum is organized around a set of drama elements, including Concentration, Movement, Voice, Relaxation, Characterization, Storytelling. These drama elements are developed at different levels of complexity through the program in a variety of exercises and projects. The course includes both group-centered activities and individual projects. Students will practice basic character and scene study skills through the analysis and presentation of published scripts as well as original material for classroom presentation. Sample projects: Shadow Drama, Scene/Skit, Improv, Monologue.
